Reproductive Health Bill

As the bible says: Gen. 1:28 Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”

As of today, the Philippines is faced on a huge controversy. A controversy that caused a great clash between the Philippine's government and the church. A certain bill was being debated if it should be pursued or not.. And that bill is the RH Bill or the Reproductive Health Bill. The bill constitutes that all Filipino families should use family planning method with the help of artificial contraceptives. But the church is unfavorable of this because of what they believe, that we as humans should not control the birth of a child for it is a blessing.

The bill is highly controversial. Some experts, academics, religious institutions, and major political figures are both supporting and opposing it and often criticizing the government and each other in the process. The issue is a bit sensitive. And even came to that one point that the Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines threatened to excommunicate the President, Benigno Aquino III if he supported the bill.

As a Filipino citizen? Are you favorable of this issue or not? Personally, I want this bill to be implemented. As we all know, the Philippine's population is relatively increasing each year. And because of this the number of out of school youths is also increasing. As well as the percentage of poor Filipino Families are also increasing. The two problems that I have stated are indeed connected. And the government should really do something about this. That's why tin my own opinion, the RH Bill should be implemented.

But still. every Filipinos have their own beliefs. Some are favorable and some are not. The only thing that we can do is to seek help from God, that whatever happens. We Filipinos should still be united and still act as one.

On August 28, 1991, between three and four o' clock in the morning. A baby boy named Ricardo Osorio Angeles Jr. was Born. His parents, Marcelina Osorio Angeles, an Administrative Officer in College of Human Ecology at UPLB, and his Father Ricardo Palis Angeles, a Chemical Engineer in Saudi Arabia was very happy and excited. That at last, a very special gift was given to them. In 1994, at his formative years, his parents let him enter the CDL (Child Development Laboratory) under the governance of the UPLB. He then studied his elementary education in MSI (Maquiling School Incorporated) in 1996 where he stayed there until his first year high school studies (2002). And there, he excelled in Music and Arts. And was then a member of the Choral Group from grade one up to his first year high school days. On 2003, he transferred in CDLB (Colegio De Los Baños), a business school, in Los Baños, to continue his high school studies. There, he early learned the basic fundamentals and elements of a good business. He graduated in high school there, and he eventually continued his college degree there too. He is currently an upcoming fourth year college student taking up Bachelor of Science in Business Administration major in Management.  For him, at first, college life is nothing but extreme exams, hard quizzes and terror teachers. But as days passed. He eventually feel that it was not, it was fun and full of adventure. He then become the Vice president of the BSBA Department when he was a first year college student and  even became the SSC (Student Supreme Council) Treasurer for two straight years. And now, his goal is to finish his studies. He dreams of having a good paying job and a business of his own.  He even wanted to learn more new things, so he is planning to take classes for interior designing, culinary arts and fashion designing.  Where he dreamt of taking them as his business. For him life must be full of dreams, "Dapat di ka natatapos mangarap, walang masama dun. Kung di mo man ma-achieve, okay lang yun, I'm sure God has better plans for you. But still strive hard and pray hard to achive all of your dreams."
